KETTERING PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 2150
PARTICIPATE IN ANNUAL ADOPT-A-FAMILY
Kettering, Dec. 22, 2000 – Kettering Local 2150 members will be giving food, toys, and clothing to eleven Kettering families in it’s annual Adopt-A-Family program.Kettering career firefighters, their wives, and Kettering secretaries will be “adopting” eleven Kettering families, including 21 children this Christmas. This is the 19th year the career firefighters will give toys, food, clothing, and pay utilities for one month to Kettering families in need. The Kettering families are selected with the help of the Salvation Army, and this year the Steele family will also be helped. Mr. Steele, a local Kettering resident, is in need of a double lung transplant. The Adopt-A-Family program gives families toys the children wish for, Christmas dinner, food for a month, and pays the utilities directly for one month. The program will start at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22 at fire headquarters. The career firefighters, their spouses, and department secretaries will shop, wrap and organize the food and presents to be handed out. Santa Claus will deliver the presents, starting at 12:00 p.m. If you have any questions call Scott Perkins or Mitch Robbins at 296-2411. Fire department headquarters is located at 2861 Bobbie Place in Kettering.
